Hospice Maui shining light of compassion | News, Sports, Jobs
I spent five days watching my mother die. It was excruciating.
My mother had Alzheimer’s, and I had been her primary caretaker for over ten years, the last five being the most difficult of my life.
When my family accepted that the end was near, we enlisted the help of Hospice Maui. It was the best decision we could have made.
From nurses Melanie, Barbara, Nani and Courtney, my mother received the best of care.
Aide Corey tenderly bathed my mother and helped to take care of her bodily needs.
These people were with us every step of the way.
I cannot tell you how many times I reached out to a caring voice at the end of the Hospice hotline late at night when concerns arose.
I would like to thank all of the people at Hospice Maui.
In our current contentious and hate-filled world, these people were a shining light of compassion and kindness. Thank you.
